In this video I’m unboxing and taking a look at the SANDMARC 1.33x Anamorphic Lens for the iPhone. I’m using this lens with an iPhone 12 Pro Max, but they make cases and accessories for the Anamorphic Lenses that will work with pretty much all recent iPhones from the iPhone 7 on up.
Overall I think this is a very well built product that has a great ecosystem of different cases which can allow you to interchangeably leverage other SANDMARC lenses on your iPhone. That’s very cool!
I put some test footage at the tail end of the video, although the weather has been very overcast and dreary for weeks now. It’s unedited footage to give you a sense of the out of the camera footage leveraging Filmic Pro with the de-squeeze feature on. I did not de-squeeze in post production, I just took the files that were captured in Filmic Pro and dropped them into the Premiere timeline. The only caveat is that I did film at 30fps instead of 24fps.
