Logitech G512 Carbon Gaming Keyboard – Unboxing and First Look

I’ve been looking for a new keyboard to replace my 5 year old wired Apple keyboard. I was getting tired of the small chicklet keys.

I actually haven’t really looked much into keyboards lately, especially gaming keyboards. Once I typed a bit on this Logitech G512 Carbon keyboard with the Blue “clicky” switches – I had to have one! 🙂

I reminds me of way back when I was a kid and typing on old school Apple II or Commodore 64 keyboards.

I will say that the “clicky” switches are noisy, but they are so satisfying to type on! It feels more like a machine than a keyboard!

Luckily there are a few other switch types in this same keyboard range if the click click click sound isn’t your thing.

In this video I do an unboxing and an initial setup with my Mac along with some sound tests so you can hear what it sounds like.

From what I understand the G512 keyboard is basically the same as the G513 keyboard – minus the wrist rest, extra keys, and key puller. I wasn’t interested in those, so I was able to save a bit of money just getting the keyboard alone.
